I’ve been enormously tired these past couple of days, spending practically the 12 hours in school: class in the morning, hours of rehearsals after noon. Yes folks, it’s that time of the year once again, where every 10th grade student is forced, more like extorted, into joining the N-Day performance next month.
I guess I’d have to think it a privilege to perform on such a glorious affair but still. My definition of ‘showing patriotism and love for one’s country’ is most definitely NOT ‘standing in the sun looking ridiculous while suffering 3rd degree sunburns’. No, sir. Unfortunately....we have no frigging right to not join unless we’re down with some incapability rendering us unable to sit around every afternoon, hot, bothered and bored to boot.
But I guess it can be quite fun if not being monotonous since all we’ve had is free time, free time and free time. (They’re teaching the performance group by group since there’re far too many of us to be controlled by one skinny instructor) I mean, that’s really not a bad thing, but too much of free time, is not fun at all. Especially when you’re haunted by the fact that you’ve got piles of homework waiting for you at home and are feeling rather ravenous and exhausted.
Which, is what I’ve been going through since Tuesday and will do so until the 22nd of next month. Oh, the horror.
